A word from the Bill...
Hello my name is Bill Keener, age 35 from Chapmanville, PA, a small
rural village 8 miles west of Titusville. As with many of you I was
born into this sport with my father racing Semi-Lates and Late Models
from the early 1970s through the early 1990's. Dad had many feature
wins at Tri-City, Mercer and Sportsman's Speedway during that time
period, and being raised more or less at the tracks, I knew someday
I would want to race.
I went through some Hell raising years, in and out of high school
back in the 80's with my friends Robbie Blair and Curt Dille. We were
quite the trio! I can remember one day in particular in high school
when Robbie drove a hatch back Nova to school and that night we gutted
the girl out to take it racing! Curt and I knew then that someday
Robbie was going to make a name for himself in racing with his determination
to be a winner. I bought a race car from Robbie for $300.00 bucks
and I raced it for 1 year in 1987 at Sportsman's Speedway with my
best feature finish being a 7th. After that season I more less just
helped my dad on his pit crew until he retired in 1990, then watched
Robbie make his mark in racing.
When I look back at us it's kinda ironic what the three of us are
doing. Robbie is a ''MACS SUPER LATE MODEL TITLE HOLDER", Curt
he is taking some of the best photo's I have ever seen for AREA AUTO
RACING NEWS and RACING NEWS, and I started this web-site and late
model message board in hoping it would be the BEST NEWS SOURCE FOR
TRACKS AND DRIVERS in this TRI-STATE REGION! I have met many people
from this message board since I started it back in 2001. I can't say
enough for the drivers, fans and race tracks that have made Bill's
Dirt Late Models where it is today. FOR THAT I THANK YOU ALL!
